Copia Digital LLC has submitted a pre-application to the Bureau of Land Management Twin Falls District for a roughly 3,013 acre data center called the Falcon Data Center on public land south of Shoshone, straddling the Lincoln and Jerome county line near Notch Butte and the Midpoint Substation. The BLM said in late October 2026 that a formal notice of intent and public scoping period remain at least a year away. Local officials including Lincoln County Commissioner Rebecca Wood and Jerome County Commissioner Ben Crouch have raised concerns about water, power, and desert land use, pointing to the nearby Lava Ridge wind project that previously stalled in the same area.
