Developers Poe Companies and PowerHouse Data Centers won approval for a seven building, roughly 1.6 million square foot hyperscale data center campus covering more than 150 acres near Camp Ground Road in west Louisville. The Louisville Metro Planning Commission voted 6 to 1 on March 5, 2026 to approve the site plan over strong community opposition at a packed hearing. The approval helped push Louisville Metro Council to later pass a temporary moratorium on new data center approvals while the city writes stricter zoning rules, which a planning commission vote recommended strengthening further in September 2026.
