Amazon Cosgray Road Data Center Fuel Cell Array
Amazon (filed as Amazon / AEP Ohio). Approved. 73 MW.
Amazon and AEP Ohio plan to install 228 Bloom Energy fuel cells on about six acres of Amazon's existing Cosgray Road data center campus in Hilliard, a 73 megawatt array that would be the largest fuel cell installation in North America. The Ohio Power Siting Board approved the project under the state's behind the meter power law despite organized neighborhood opposition and a lawsuit filed by the City of Hilliard.

What it would mean nearby
The cooling design has not been reported. If it uses evaporative cooling, a 73 MW facility would draw roughly 231,000 to 833,000 gallons of water a day, about what 2,700 households use.
AEP Ohio distribution rate case (docket 25-0392-EL-AIR) takes about $1.22 a month off a typical bill, decided April 1, 2026. This is a minimum bill requirement for very large new customers, not a rate change for homes, but it exists specifically to keep data center grid costs off residential bills.
