Amazon Wayne Madison Road Data Center Campus

Amazon (filed as Amazon Web Services). On hold

Amazon Web Services is pursuing an estimated $5 billion, 18-building (about 3.96 million square foot) data center campus on roughly 601 acres straddling Wayne Madison Road in Madison and St. Clair townships near Trenton, Butler County; AWS says the site would use air cooling about 97% of the year. Property owners withdrew their annexation petition in September 2026 ahead of a scheduled county hearing, leaving the project in a holding pattern with the right to refile after November 10, even as AWS held a public open house in Trenton on October 15, 2026. Trenton voters will separately decide a November 3, 2026 ballot measure, Issue 17, that would ban new data centers using 25 megawatts or more within city limits.
