Apple Prineville Data Center Campus Expansion

Apple has filed paperwork with Crook County to expand its existing Prineville data center campus with additional pods, each over 35,000 square feet, and has also filed early paperwork for a separate new campus adjacent to the existing site. Bonneville Power Administration and Pacific Power have announced plans to speed up completion of a nearby electrical substation to add 400 megawatts of capacity for the area. Prineville officials say the city is in a stronger negotiating position for future data center deals than it was for earlier ones, after both Apple and Meta built large campuses there since 2010.
