CoreSite wants to open a second Secaucus data center at 215 County Avenue, next to the Shetik soccer fields, in a town that already hosts about 10 data centers. After 5,000 gallons of diesel spilled from generators at an existing Equinix facility in town, Secaucus Mayor Mike Gonnelli asked the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority in a September 16, 2026 letter to pause consideration of new data center proposals, including this one. Because Secaucus has opted out of NJSEA review for some applications, the CoreSite project is being handled directly by the town rather than the state authority.
