Crane Data Centers, working with Principal Real Estate Investors, is building a two building, roughly 100 megawatt data center campus on 35 acres near Neal Armstrong Middle School in Forest Grove, about eight miles from Hillsboro. City staff and the planning commission approved the project in 2024 despite heavy resident turnout at hearings, and after a resident's appeal the Forest Grove City Council upheld the approval in October 2024. Construction was underway on the first building as of August 2025.
