CyrusOne Sangamon County Data Center
CyrusOne. Approved. 636 MW.
CyrusOne plans a 500 million dollar, 636 megawatt data center complex on about 280 acres of farmland on Thayer Road near Waverly in Talkington Township, roughly 40 minutes southwest of Springfield. It would be the largest building project in Sangamon County history. The county board approved the rezoning 17 to 10 on April 7, 2026, though CyrusOne still must submit detailed site plans and utility documentation before construction can start.
