Advanced Energy and Intelligence Campus
Fermi America (filed as Fermi America / Texas University System). Under construction. 11000 MW.
Fermi America and the Texas University System are developing an 11 gigawatt, 5,800 acre campus near Amarillo with 18 million square feet of data center space, to be powered by a mix of natural gas, solar, wind and nuclear generation. Geotechnical work began in mid 2025 and the developer expects the first 1 gigawatt of power by the end of 2026; the plan has drawn public debate over water and environmental impact at Amarillo City Council.

What it would mean nearby
The cooling design has not been reported. If it uses evaporative cooling, a 11000 MW facility would draw roughly 34.9 million to 125.5 million gallons of water a day, about what 401,000 households use.
