The board that runs the Southern California Fair and Events Center near Lake Perris approved a nonbinding agreement in August 2026 with Global Stack USA to explore a small edge data center, along with a heliport and parking structure, on five acres of the state owned fairgrounds. Because the fairgrounds are state property overseen by a governor appointed board, the project would fall outside a data center ban the city of Perris was considering for land within its own jurisdiction. No formal application or site plan has been filed yet.
