Hut 8 is developing Beacon Point in Corpus Christi with local stakeholders and private sector delivery partners, saying the facility will use a closed loop cooling design that recirculates water through sealed piping rather than drawing municipal water. The Corpus Christi City Council has directed staff to study land use, zoning, setbacks and infrastructure for data center development amid concern the project may be contributing to delays in the city's emergency water supply plans.
