An unnamed Fortune 100 company is behind a proposed hyperscale data center just north of the AA Highway, west of Maysville and along Germantown Road in Mason County, on a site reported at roughly 2,080 acres with capacity up to about 2.2 gigawatts. Mason County Fiscal Court adopted data center zoning text amendments in February 2026 and gave final approval to rezone 28 outlying properties in May 2026, clearing the way for construction. A local grassroots group, We Are Mason County, has sued the county and its planning commission, arguing the zoning plan does not specify where or how many data centers can be built.
