Is a Data Center Coming

Douglas County, GA

Microsoft Douglasville Data Center (FTY101)

Microsoft. Under construction.

Microsoft is building a four building, roughly 980,000 square foot data center campus known as FTY101 on 160 acres at 1601 North River Road in Douglasville, part of its East US 3 Azure region that also includes sites in Fulton County. On August 10, 2026 Microsoft confirmed it is unwinding local property tax abatement deals here and at two Fulton County sites, East Point and Palmetto, saying the reputational cost of the tax breaks now outweighs the savings. Some third party trackers report a target capacity around 300 megawatts for this site, but that figure has not been independently confirmed by Microsoft or the county.

Oglethorpe Power, which generates most of the electricity Georgia's EMCs sell, is adding natural gas plants it ties to data center and industrial load. EMC rates are set by each cooperative's board, not the Public Service Commission, so watch your EMC's rate notices.
