Prime Data Centers has broken ground on SMF02, a second multi-tenant data center building next to its existing SMF01 campus in unincorporated Sacramento County, near AK Street. Sacramento County approved the roughly 110,000 square foot, two-story expansion along with a separate administration building and generator building. The project uses a closed loop cooling system to cut water use and will draw power from the Sacramento Municipal Utility District rather than a private grid connection.
