Starwood Digital Ventures, partnered with cryptocurrency miner MARA, won Kearney City Council approval in September 2026 for Project Horizon, a phased redevelopment of the Tech oNE Crossing site that will convert an existing cryptocurrency mining operation into a data center. The first phase adds an office building, a data center building, and equipment yards, with later phases adding a second data center building and extending onto the current mining property as mining is decommissioned. The city added stricter rules requiring efficient closed loop water systems and capping noise at 55 decibels along arterial roads.
