Raeden proposes a 50 megawatt AI data center on Garden of the Gods Road in Colorado Springs, reusing a vacant former Intel semiconductor plant that was later used for cryptocurrency mining. City staff administratively approved the plan, and the planning commission rejected five appeals of that approval after a 14 and a half hour hearing in July 2026. A raucous Colorado Springs City Council meeting on September 17, 2026 ended with a 7 to 2 vote to postpone a final decision on the remaining appeals until April 13, 2027, so the city can commission power and noise studies; three people were arrested during the meeting.
