Prologis Silver Creek Valley Road Data Center
Prologis. Filed, 99 MW
Prologis filed plans in July 2026 for a three story, 516,000 square foot data center on a 15 acre vacant parcel at 5977 Silver Creek Valley Road in South San Jose, near Google and Apple facilities, capped at 99 megawatts to avoid triggering California Energy Commission licensing that applies at 100 megawatts and above. The plan includes an onsite substation, backup generation, and Prologis has committed to fund grid interconnection upgrades and a second, independently routed transmission line tied to a nearby PG&E substation on Santa Teresa Boulevard. This is a separate proposal from Prologis's larger STEM Park project on city owned land near Zanker Road, and as of mid 2026 the project still needed city approvals, with buildout targeted around 2028.

What it would mean nearby
The cooling design has not been reported. If it uses evaporative cooling, a 99 MW facility would draw roughly 314,000 to 1.1 million gallons of water a day, about what 3,600 households use.
