Prologis was chosen in November 2025 as the preferred developer for 159 acres of city owned land near Highway 237 and Zanker Road, next to the San Jose Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility, for a project it calls the Sustainable Technology, Engineering and Manufacturing (STEM) Park. The plan pairs about 1.7 million square feet of data center space across four buildings, totaling roughly 396 megawatts, with another 785,000 square feet of advanced manufacturing space. Prologis estimates the project would create about 6,000 jobs and generate 30 million dollars a year in local tax revenue, though it still needs formal city approval.
