Ranalli Super DC, LLC, a company tied to Onondaga County developer James Ranalli, applied to the New York Independent System Operator in May 2025 to connect a proposed 300 megawatt data center near Hencle Boulevard and Oswego Road in the town of Lysander to the grid, on 120 acres that were later listed for sale at 60 million dollars. A resident group called Citizens Against Lysander Data Center pushed the town board to act, and Lysander adopted a temporary moratorium on new data center projects while it and Onondaga County, which committed 500,000 dollars to study AI data centers countywide, work out zoning and review rules.
