Zenith Volts Data Center and Solar Facility (Lake Arthur)

Zenith Volts Corp.. Approved, 1265 MW

Cheyenne, Wyoming based Zenith Volts Corp. won a special use permit from Chaves County on August 22, 2025 for a data center and solar power complex on roughly 8,500 acres of ranch land along West Pearson Road near Lake Arthur, about 20 miles south of Roswell and extending to the Eddy County line. The plan pairs a 300 acre data center seeking up to 1.3 gigawatts of capacity with a 1,265 megawatt solar facility, a 250 acre battery storage system, natural gas backup generators, and geothermal cooling, designed to operate independent of the regional grid. The roughly 11.7 billion dollar project is projected to create about 900 construction jobs and 140 permanent jobs, with Zenith Volts targeting operations by November 2027.
