Google is building its third Nebraska data center on about 580 acres northwest of 56th Street and Interstate 80 in Lincoln, a 1.2 billion dollar project the company confirmed after months of reporting. City officials expect the campus to come online in 2026, and Google held a community roundtable in August 2026 to answer questions about the project. The Lincoln campus is separate from a much larger data center that Google, Tenaska, and Tallgrass Energy have discussed for southeastern Nebraska, which could need far more power than the Lincoln facility.
