The Port of Walla Walla agreed in late 2024 to sell more than 550 acres in the Wallula Gap Business Park, about 10 miles east of Pasco, to a then unnamed developer called Advance Phase LLC, later confirmed to be Amazon Data Services, for a roughly 4.8 to 5 billion dollar cluster of up to 16 data center buildings totaling more than 3.4 million square feet. A first phase called the Attalia Data Center Campus, three 220,000 square foot buildings on 134 acres along Sundance Road, had its site development and environmental review application deemed complete by Walla Walla County on September 1, 2026, though the county says a final decision has not been made and Amazon must still secure environmental, air quality, and wastewater permits.
