Amazon Web Services bought about 1,300 acres of former Threemile Canyon Farms land near Boardman in January 2026 for a possible exascale data center campus, with planning documents describing up to 20 buildings and 1 gigawatt of capacity. The site is zoned for industrial use, but AWS says development plans are not final and the company is still doing due diligence. Morrow County has held public information sessions on the project, and AWS has separately clashed with Pacific Power over whether the utility can supply enough power fast enough for its Morrow County campuses.
