Comanche Circle Data Center (Sailfish)

Sailfish Digital Ventures (filed as Sailfish Investors). Denied

Sailfish, led by Ryan Hughes, proposed Comanche Circle, a roughly 2,600 acre data center campus along Paluxy Highway near Tolar and Glen Rose in Hood County, with reported plans for several gigawatts of capacity using a mix of grid power and behind the meter natural gas generation; local residents organized against the project over water use, traffic and effects on nearby Dinosaur Valley State Park. On October 13, 2026 Hood County Commissioners voted 3-1 to reject a settlement offer that would have shrunk the project to about 1,375 acres with setback, lighting and closed loop cooling concessions, and separately voted 4-0 to deny Sailfish's appeal of its on-site permit applications. The developer warned the rejection could lead to litigation and a larger project with fewer restrictions; no megawatt figure for the facility has been confirmed by independent reporting.
