The Lubbock Economic Development Alliance signed a purchase and sale agreement with CORVA Infrastructure Services for a roughly 50,000 square foot inference data center called Project Infrared on 100 acres north of Loop 289 on Municipal Drive, expected to use about 1,500 gallons of water a day and up to 27 megawatts, with CORVA targeting operations by 2028. The deal did not go before city council, prompting local scrutiny.
