EdgeConneX Ashville Data Center
EdgeConneX. Filed. 800 MW.
EdgeConneX is considering an 800 megawatt data center complex on about 680 acres of farmland north of state Route 752 in Ashville, including a 1.8 gigawatt substation and a 200 megawatt gas turbine energy center. The proposal is facing local criticism and the company is seeking a 30 year full tax abatement; the village of Ashville has since passed a moratorium on new data center construction and South Bloomfield removed data centers as a permitted use.

What it would mean nearby
The cooling design has not been reported. If it uses evaporative cooling, a 800 MW facility would draw roughly 2.5 million to 9.1 million gallons of water a day, about what 29,200 households use.
