The Casa Grande Planning and Zoning Commission voted 6-1 on October 1, 2026 to approve a conditional use permit for the Grande Valley Industrial Data Center Campus, a 954-acre site south of the Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway, west of Montgomery Road and east of the Midway Road alignment on the city's northwest side. Colliers Engineering filed the request on behalf of landowner LKY Development Company for a campus that would run on about 1.2 gigawatts of on-site Bloom Energy fuel cells rather than drawing power from the grid. Conditions of approval cap water use at 300 acre-feet a year and limit noise to 65 dBA at the nearest residential property line, and because this was a conditional use permit the project did not require a separate Casa Grande City Council vote.
