Minnesota developer Oppidan, with operator T5 Data Centers, is building a 90,000 square foot, 10 megawatt data center southwest of K-10 and K-7 in Olathe, between Honeywell Aerospace and a church, after the city approved the project in 2024. Unlike some of its neighbors, Olathe has generally steered away from hosting large hyperscale campuses directly, instead courting industrial revenue bonds for the factories that build electrical infrastructure and switchgear for the wider Kansas City area data center boom.
