Sentinel / Green Fig Data Center
Green Fig. On hold.
Green Fig's 1.5 million square foot data center on Swedesford Road, on part of the old Foote Mineral Company Superfund site, was approved in 2024 after the developer scrapped a larger 1.7 million square foot version amid heavy public opposition. The township has since issued more than one stop work order, most recently in August 2026, after the developer could not show that the local water utility, Aqua, had committed enough water for the project. Neighbors have also raised concerns about whether the old industrial contamination on the site has been fully cleaned up.

What it would mean nearby
PECO price to compare increase June 2026 raised residential rates 5% from June 2026: about $7 to $9 a month on a $160 bill. The order is meant to keep new data centers from pushing their power costs onto residential electric bills by requiring developers to pay for all of their own electricity. This does not change anyone's electric rate directly, but it is meant to stop the cost of new substations and power lines built for data centers from being added to everyone else's bill.
