STACK Infrastructure Goldendale Data Center

STACK Infrastructure. Rumored, 958 MW

Blue Owl Capital, which owns STACK Infrastructure, is developing a data center on the site of a former aluminum smelter next to the Columbia River and John Day Dam about 8 miles southeast of Goldendale, on land tied to owner Scott Tillman. The site has a 2022-era line load connection request for 958 megawatts of power with Klickitat Public Utility District, with reporting suggesting it could scale toward 1 gigawatt, and plans call for air cooled buildings rather than water intensive cooling. The project still needs a prospective purchaser consent decree from the Washington Department of Ecology before site remediation can begin, with cleanup not expected to start before mid-2027, and no formal county permit application has been filed yet.
