Wildcat Ridge Data Center Campus
Cornell Realty Management. Denied, 1600 MW
Brooklyn based Cornell Realty Management proposed Wildcat Ridge, a 14 building, roughly 578 acre data center campus off Business Route 6 and Wildcat Road in Archbald Borough, with about 1.6 gigawatts of power, 588 diesel backup generators, and up to 3.3 million gallons of water use a day at summer peak. More than 400 residents packed earlier public hearings in opposition, and the Archbald Borough Council voted unanimously, 7 to 0, on October 21, 2026 to deny the zoning application. Residents at the meeting said they expect the developer to appeal the decision.

What it would mean nearby
The cooling design has not been reported. If it uses evaporative cooling, a 1600 MW facility would draw roughly 5.1 million to 18.3 million gallons of water a day, about what 58,300 households use.
No rate change has happened yet. This is a complaint asking the PUC to make PPL shift the cost of serving large data centers onto those data centers instead of spreading it across everyone else's bill, and it is still pending. PPL Electric distribution base rate case settlement raised residential rates 4.9% from July 2026: about $8 to $10 a month on a $184 bill. The order is meant to keep new data centers from pushing their power costs onto residential electric bills by requiring developers to pay for all of their own electricity.
