Under construction 1200 MW San Marcos

CloudBurst and Evolve broke ground on a 706 acre campus straddling the Hays and Guadalupe county line near San Marcos, master planned for up to 1.2 gigawatts across three 400 megawatt phases. The first 50 megawatt phase is expected online in the fourth quarter of 2026, with the developer estimating about 120 million dollars a year in tax revenue.

After hundreds of residents packed San Marcos City Hall, the City Council voted 5 to 2 at 3 a.m. to deny a proposed 1.5 billion dollar, 200 acre data center rezoning. The rejection preceded a June 2026 council vote that made San Marcos the first Texas city to fully ban data centers within its limits.
