Five buildings are operating with seven more under construction; Amazon and county assessors are disputing the buildings' tax values. Amazon says it air cools most of the year and is moving to recycled wastewater for the rest by 2027.

A May 2026 Earthjustice analysis estimated Mississippi households had already paid roughly 38 million dollars for transmission and other infrastructure connected to the AWS project as of that point, though Entergy disputes how that cost should be characterized.
