Your power bill

Data centers change bills through the utility's own rate cases and large load tariffs, not a separate charge you would see by name. Pending electric rate cases in Mississippi, in dollars a month, is our sister site's full tracker for this state.

Entergy Mississippi's AWS Madison County data center deal Entergy Mississippi
Implemented

Amazon Web Services is building large data centers in Madison County and Rankin County, Mississippi, served by Entergy Mississippi. A 2024 Mississippi law let this kind of large customer contract move forward without full Mississippi Public Service Commission review, and it bars the commission from later changing the contract's terms, including how infrastructure costs are shared between Amazon and other ratepayers. Entergy says Amazon is paying for its own substations and a larger share of new generation, but key details of the deal are shielded by nondisclosure agreements.
