Digital Realty Astra North Data Center (De Soto)

Digital Realty. Approved, 600 MW

Digital Realty is planning a second hyperscale data center campus in De Soto, near the Panasonic battery plant and known as Astra North or Project Jayhawk, with a first phase of about 300 acres and a two story, 450,000 square foot building targeting up to 600 megawatts. The De Soto planning commission approved the Astra North phase one site plan on September 22, 2026, and the city council is expected to set a hearing date for the next development phase. Digital Realty has offered De Soto households up to 1,000 dollars a year for ten years in property tax or utility relief, but some neighbors have organized a petition seeking a public vote on high impact data center development.

What it would mean nearby

The cooling design has not been reported. If it uses evaporative cooling, a 600 MW facility would draw roughly 1.9 million to 6.8 million gallons of water a day, about what 21,900 households use.
