A Delaware shell company called Willowbend Capital bought about 380 acres at the Port of Little Rock for roughly 23 million dollars to build a 300,000 square foot, 1 billion dollar data center along the Arkansas River, a project expected to create about 50 jobs. Arkansas news outlets reported in January 2026 that Google is the technology company behind Willowbend, following months in which the developer's identity was kept confidential during local approvals. The Port of Little Rock project emerged alongside a competing, related proposal in Conway, with local officials saying the two central Arkansas cities may effectively be competing for the same company's investment.
