Prime Data Centers is building a roughly 1 billion dollar, three building campus at 1600 East Higgins Road in Elk Grove Village, its first Illinois project, with up to 275 megawatts and more than 1 million square feet at full build-out. Elk Grove Village approved land sales and zoning changes for the project, which broke ground in November 2022 and has continued phased construction since.

The cooling design has not been reported. If it uses evaporative cooling, a 275 MW facility would draw roughly 872,000 to 3.1 million gallons of water a day, about what 10,000 households use.
