TeraWulf's Lake Mariner campus, built on the site of the former Somerset coal fired power plant on Lake Ontario, is adding two new AI data center buildings on 61 acres in the parcel's northeastern corner, part of a 3.2 billion dollar expansion that would raise the 410 acre campus to 360 megawatts of capacity. The Niagara County Planning Board and the Somerset Town Board both gave unanimous approval to the required Planned Unit Development amendment, site plan, state environmental review, and special use permit in late 2025, and construction is underway with new operations expected in the second half of 2026, creating about 200 new jobs.
