Farmington Technology Park (Tract)

Tract. Approved. 708 MW.

Land development firm Tract wants to build the Farmington Technology Park, a data center campus of up to twelve buildings and 2.5 million square feet, on 343 acres that were once the Fountain Valley Golf Course in Farmington, Dakota County. The city's planning commission has approved rezoning and a final plat for the site, but the project still needs the Metropolitan Council to sign off on a comprehensive plan amendment. Neighboring Castle Rock Township residents and one Farmington resident have sued to block the project, and the city council has granted the developer a one year extension while the litigation continues.

What it would mean nearby

The cooling design has not been reported. If it uses evaporative cooling, a 708 MW facility would draw roughly 2.2 million to 8.1 million gallons of water a day, about what 25,800 households use.
