CleanArc is building a 3 billion dollar data center campus in Caroline County, the largest private investment in county history, with plans to deliver 200 megawatts by the third quarter of 2026 and scale toward 900 megawatts. The company says it will use closed-loop cooling to limit water use.
Amazon is pursuing an 11-building, 4.5 million square foot data center campus on 920 acres in Caroline County, originally announced as the Orrock Tech Campus and later renamed the Mattameade Tech Campus.

Dominion's fuel and purchased power costs ran roughly a billion dollars past what bills collected. Recovering it directly would add about 21.79 dollars a month to a 1,000 kWh bill; Dominion proposes spreading it over 7 to 10 years with bonds instead, about 8 dollars a month. The hearing was August 12, 2026 and a decision is due by late September 2026.
